A Fresh Start: Inviting God Into Your October

A Fresh Start: Inviting God Into Your October

October is here—a new month filled with possibility, beauty, and the chance to start fresh. There’s something about the turning of the seasons that reminds us of God’s faithfulness and the new beginnings He offers us each day. The air gets crisper, the leaves change, and the world seems to whisper: God is doing something new.

When life feels busy and overwhelming, it’s easy to carry the weight of yesterday into today. We replay mistakes, hang on to stress, and let fear or worry steal our joy. But Scripture reminds us that God’s mercies are new every morning:

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22–23

That means October isn’t just another month—it’s a new opportunity to hit reset. Not just on your goals, but on your heart, your focus, and your walk with the Lord.

Here are three simple ways to invite God into your October:

Start with gratitude

Write down three things you’re thankful for each morning. It doesn’t have to be complicated—sometimes the simplest blessings are the most profound. Gratitude shifts our perspective and fills our hearts with peace, even when life feels uncertain.

  • Try this: Keep a little “October Gratitude Journal” by your bed. Each morning, jot down three things you’re thankful for before scrolling your phone or jumping into tasks.

Meditate on truth

Choose one verse to carry with you through the week—something that keeps your mind fixed on God’s promises. You might write it on a sticky note, set it as your phone wallpaper, or memorize it. God’s Word has the power to renew our minds and anchor us in truth when distractions come.

  • A few verses for October:
    • Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”
    • Isaiah 26:3 – “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
    • John 15:5 – “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.”

Pray over your plans

Before you dive into your to-do list, pause and ask God to guide your steps. James 4:15 reminds us, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” Inviting God into your schedule reminds you that your time is a gift from Him and helps you walk in step with His Spirit.

  • Try this: Begin your day with a simple prayer—“Lord, order my steps today. Help me to choose what matters most and let everything I do bring You glory.”

As the leaves change and the days grow shorter, may your heart find renewal in Him. Let this October be more than just another month—let it be a season of purpose, peace, and presence with God.

Take a deep breath, friend. God is already in your October, waiting to meet you in every moment. Let’s step into this month expectant for Him to move, trusting that His faithfulness will carry us through.

I can’t wait to share something special with you later this month that will help you live this out all year long. Stay tuned—it’s coming soon!
